Thoughts on a crazy year
Hello Dear Readers!
It’s been a while…
I’ve been a bit absent here the last few months. To be honest, I needed a break. This year has been so damn hard. Terrible in fact.
It’s challenging to get around the 24/7 news cycle and the bad news that never seems to end. The release of the vaccine is a huge glimmer of hope for everyone. Despite it all, I’ve tried to keep my spirits up, focus on the positive, and just do what feels good.
In reflection of it all, I can’t help but look back in order to move forward.
Things I am grateful for.
ALL frontline workers (doctors, nurses, paramedics, teachers, therapists).
My health. The health of my family and friends.
My two February trips to California (not knowing what was to come).
Time to pursue new creative endeavors.
Quiet early mornings.
Acts of kindness.
Mindful moments.
My family.
Biden-Harris.
A vaccine.
My dog.
Things that have kept me sane this year.
My weekly film class with two of my favorite people.
Nearly every meal with my daughter and husband.
Creating a zen garden in my backyard.
Neighborhood walks with my doggie (on repeat always).
Coffee…coffee and more coffee.
Spending time in nature.
The perfect gimlets made by my husband.
Celebrating small moments.
Discovering the comfort of Uggs. I’ve decided to like them.
Moments of gratitude.
Evening candle lights.
Sitting on my front porch.
Time alone.
Taco Tuesday.
Family games.
Family hugs.
Movie nights.
Binge-watching.
Elastic waistbands.
Reading.
Naps.
Things I am looking forward to in 2021.
My daughter going back to school (in the classroom).
Visiting family and friends.
Hugging my family and friends.
Going out to restaurants again.
Hopefully, getting the vaccine.
Losing the extra covid pounds.
New creative pursuits.
Dinner parties.
Creative growth.
New adventures.
Big dreams.
Travel.
In the meantime, I will continue to wear my mask, social distance, and keep my chin up.
Thank you, dear readers, for giving us the opportunity to bring you joy again this year. It’s been a crazy one for sure. I hope not to be repeated for I am eager to bid farewell to 2020.
We will be back with more mindful moments to share in 2021. Until then…
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
