Friendship Starts with Self
October 11, 2018
On this beautiful crisp October day, I came across this micro poem by Nayyirah Waheed. It really spoke to me. In the last few years, I’ve made a conscious, intentional effort to really focus on selfcare. It’s so easy to let the day slip away and get consumed by our To Do lists, but I try and remind myself that it is the quality of the time and not the quantity.
So glad I stumbled upon these wise words today.
“and i said to my body. softly. ‘i want to be your friend.’ it took a long breath. and replied ‘i have been waiting my whole life for this.”
