On my mind

While I know we are all in this together, it is still daunting that every minute is dominated by the coronavirus. We are on week two of lockdown. Homeschooling and virtual everything is our new normal.

I’m grateful to have my family together, a fridge and pantry stocked with the basics. We have no idea when this disruption will end. So, we are trying our best to adjust to our new normal, and new schedules.

However, I am feeling a little overwhelmed this week. To be honest, the uncertainty of everything is paralyzing. It’s definitely sinking in that we are all in this for the long haul. There is comfort in knowing I am not alone.

Frequent breaks, fresh air, walks with my dog, rotation of games, origami, day movies along with checking in with my friends and family are lifting my spirits. Here are a few other things that have kept me smiling this last week.

In the meantime, let’s please remember that it’s a collective responsibility to follow the basics of:

handwashing,
social distancing,
and
supporting our community.

I dare say that the imposed quarantine is not the worst thing. Putting my frustration, anxiety, and stress aside; I am choosing to view this time as an opportunity to take a step back, slow down and re-evaluate.

How are you feeling? What’s your new normal?
