Curiosity Fuels the Mind

One of the many reasons I started this blog was to live each day purposefully with intention; and to document the people, places and things that inspire me to live a richer life filled with greater meaning.

Little did I know what was in store for me and my family when we entered the wndr museum. Chicago’s new experiential museum.

Part of the charm factor for me was not knowing what to fully expect upon entry and I was not disappointed. Wndr museum is an experience for your senses. It evokes delight, inspiration and layered emotions. Featuring 17 artists and their installations through a maze of wonder along with 6 artists in residence; the museum features their current artwork in progress. I could not be more inspired.

One of my favorite parts of my wndr experience was meeting Artist and Poet, Jessica Brackett.

I am not sure which was more charming the name plate on her desk that reads, The Poet Is In, or the sound of the typewriter keys. The experience is simple: you leave your name with a topic and Jessica will write a poem for you. You pick it up at the end your wndr journey.

Between December 8th and December 26th, Jessica mentioned that she had written hundreds of poems. She gave me a new perspective on creativity and flow.

To Casie:
You close your eyes and see
Within
To that scared place of all
And nothing
There is not an end or a start
And no room for hate, just heart
-zen

To Lucia:
We share this world
With our friends
The cats, giraffes, and hens
We give them the respect they
Deserve
Thus their habitats we
Preserve
-animals

To Ruben:
All these bugs and trees, too
They pile up and own the land
We try to categorize and compile
In the hope we’ll understand…
-nature

This museum is everything you never knew you wanted or needed. My family and I are still reminiscing about our experience.
